I often get annoyed when I read a person’s submission saying “oh I like him/her/it because they’re so humble and nice!” Or “Oh they’re not humble at all I can’t possible enjoy their work.” SCREW THAT. Being “humble” is not an artist requirement. If you have put in the hours of work, no wait sorry YEARS of work to bring your skills level up to a professional level then screw being humble and don’t let ANYONE, I mean ANYONE make you feel that you have to be or that shouldn’t be proud about what you have accomplished. Being a professional artist, Is A Job!And you should NEVER EVER downplay your skills. Do you think anyone is going to hire the Chief who’s “Sort of alright” at cooking? Or the secretary who “isn’t the best at filing but I’m trying my best?” NO. They are going to hire the person who is confident (or who can at least can pretend to be) and who will impresses them not just with their attitude but also with their awesome artwork!

But least we forget, being humble does not = being nice or Polite. You can be a super awesomely nice person but still be proud of what you can accomplish. Cause being Proud does not = Being an ass.

So be proud artists because you fucking deserve it.
